Bobo wouldn't go there.

Bobo's still not feeling too good. But she woke up, flipped the Straits Times today and saw this picture in the Money Section...

This is Ms Jean Yip, Owner of the Jean Yip group. In case you don't know, Jean Yip has 50 hair and beauty salons in the region. It is "now one of Singapore's leading hair and beauty salons with a strong growing team of more than 600 creative hairstylists and experienced beauty therapists."

They have "state of the art" hairdressing and hair care services, a huge variety of facial services and slimming services to suit every need. They even have makeover services, where their professional makeup artists and photographers are dedicated to create the most beautiful image for you!

So.... the million dollar question is...

WHERE DID THEY GO WRONG WITH JEAN YIP HERSELF?!

LOOK! look at the picture! WHAT IS RIGHT? The hair? The makeup? The size??? Bobo thinks that the only thing that is right is that she is wearing black! Thank goodness she didn't pull some lemon yellow suit out for the photoshoot.

Firstly, Bobo would like to clarify... Bobo has got nothing against people who look less than average. Even Bobo herself ain't fantastic. But a good hairstyle, good makeup and regular exercise can do wonders for someone who is in need of looking better.

Firstly look at the hair. It layers at her chin! Her face is wide, and hair ending at the chin draws too much attention to the width of her face! And it curls there.... and LOOK AT THE BANGS! ... It's so totally wrong. Absolutely not suitable for someone her age and status. AND her hair is way too dark! She's so fair... it makes her look.... white like a ghost!

Secondly look at the makeup. Her makeup is fine, not overdone, which is one saving point. But ...
HER EYEBROWS............ she looks perpetually surprised! They are way too high. And did anyone hear of the rule.... emphasize one portion and lighten the other? The whole face is one same tone... there's no emphasis on anything...

Thirdly ... Look at the size. Bobo apologises if she sounds mean. But she's got many SLIMMING SALONS RIGHT? What the hell happened here?

She's got NO excuses... ABSOLUTELY no excuse to look like that!

She's Busy..... Her clientele are basically made of working class women (tai-tais are an exception) who have no time to take care of themselves. They target these women and to market their services to people who eat on the go and work when they sleep, they have to convince these women that just a couple of visits to her place every month would make one FABULOUS! So she being busy is an absurd excuse. Cos SHE'S the kind of person her salon wants to sell to!

She's a little erhmm more mature. .... That's worse. Then why the hell is she sporting THAT hairstyle?! And mature or not, what has hairstyle and makeup got to do with age? In fact, you're suppose to get better with it, realising your own style and stuff like that. And there are TONS of women who look good at the age of 40!

She's having a bad day.... Bobo has personally seen her a few times. My Mama has, Love has. In life. and she looks like that too. Well if every day is a bad day for her... then that's really sad.

So what's the bottomline? You think for yourself.
