10 things about Bobo the Bimbo

10 THINGS THAT HAPPENED TO BOBO

Number 1
When Bobo was 12, she had chicken pox. She had the spots everywhere. REALLY EVERYWHERE... in her throat, in her ears, on her palms, on her soles, on her scalp... She was given 2 weeks medical leave... at the end of 2 weeks the spots were all still there so she went to the doctor again. Without any questions... just one big OH MY... the doctor gladly gave her another 2 weeks. It was so bad then that Bobo's family got rid of all the mirrors in the room and Bobo was in air-con 24 hours a day cos she cannot shower even. She used powder (which she hates) and a damp cloth to clean. She had to wear bedroom slippers due to the spots on her soles. When it was over and Bobo went back to school.. it was the PSLE, a very important exam for those in primary school. She had scars everywhere... including her face. Sigh.


Number 2
Bobo was in the same class as 10 other girls (all-girls' school) in Primary 3. And the whole gang was together for 4 years all the way to Primary 6. So you can imagine how familiar we were with each other and how much noise we made. :)


Number 3
When Bobo was in Primary 6, she, with 2 other classmates, picked a guy out from Teenage Magazine's Penpal section and wrote to him. We corresponded quite a bit and even went out once (once only)... Then Bobo's Mama found out and objected and Bobo stopped contacting him. A good 10 years went by and someone invented Friendster. Out of curiosity, Bobo typed his name to search for him... and Abracadabra! There was someone with that same unique name as him and of the same age..... So Bobo msged him and it turns out... It's HIM! Wheeeeee and thank goodness Bobo found him cos he is one of Bobo's bestest friends. :)


Number 4
For those who don't know, all secondary school (13-16) pupils must have one Extra Curricular Activity on top of their academic commitments. Currently it's called CCA (co-curricular activity). There are quite a few to choose from... like Choir, Band, Art Club, Library, Drama Club etc...

Bobo cannot cycle, can't remember how to swim, can't play any team sports nor individual ones for that matter. She can't remember the last time she'd exercised... and she can hardly do ONE push up. So one would expect her to be in Art Club or Library right?

WRONG!

She was from NPCC -------- National Police Cadet Corps. These are like Student Police... They don uniforms which look like the real police and do footdrills and Physical training. Not mention there's all the camps and Guard of Honour parades etc.

People still do fall off the chair when Bobo tells them what she did in secondary school.


Number 5
Bobo was once chosen as a finalist on FHM's Heartland Honey contest. It's some contest for a mag for guys in SG. Eye candy sort of thing. Anyway... she went, read the contract, hated it and walked out. But you know what? They still used her photo to promote the finals which was suppose to be held on Halloween's that year at Zouk... Bobo's friends went to support her. They didn't tell her beforehand thinking they could surprise her but they got the surprise instead...

The best part was that... they used her photo the following year. BLAH.


Number 6
Bobo had three near-death experiences within 10 days.

Bobo was at home when her maid went out, leaving the soup on the stove. Bobo was fast asleep with the fan blowing at her face. The soup soon burned and there was smoke all over. It became so bad, the smoke filled our neighbour's kitchen and they ran over to see. They rang and rang the doorbell and finally Bobo woke up to find herself surrounded by smoke. She dashed down and the stove seemed to be on mini fire and she turned it off, afraid that things would explode anytime. Luckily it didn't and Bobo's still alive here blogging... but 4 days later........

Bobo was in a cab. She had been rushing her assignment so she was fast asleep in the cab as it rushed her to submit her assignment in school. Suddenly a loud screeching noise jolted her up and she looked out of the window just to see a bus stop inches away from her door. The cab was in the middle of a junction and the bus had dashed through the red light... screeching to a stop just before hitting the side where Bobo was seated. Bobo escaped death again......

Bobo had her usual bout of UTI (Urinary Tract Infection). She went to her usual doctor to get some medication but the doc was closed. Feeling really sick, she went to another one just a stone's throw away and got some medicine which the doc said was very effective for people with Bobo's condition. She got home, had dinner and took the medicine...
Within 20 minutes, her fingers and toes were swelling. Her lips and eyelids were swollen. Bobo went back to the clinic but IT WAS CLOSED! luckily there was another one and the moment the nurse saw Bobo she ushered Bobo into the room, apologising to the other patients waiting. At that time, Bobo's eyelids were so swollen she couldn't open her eyes anymore. Her ears were also swollen and everything she heard seemed really far away... The doctor gave her a jab and made her rest on a bed in the room. 10 minutes later Bobo started to turn blue.... seriously... turn blue due to lack of oxygen in blood.... and the doctor administered another jab saying that if Bobo didn't seem better in 10 minutes she would have to be rushed to the A&E... Luckily she did... and from now on, she tells all those around her that she is allergic to that medicine.

BTW Bobo tend to get UTI... cos she forgot that she needed to go to the toilet. :)


Number 7
Just to prove what a scatterbrain Bobo is... There were a couple of times when she was still schooling....

That she came home without her schoolbag.


Number 8
Bobo used to sleep on a mattress on the floor. (it was a health thing for her back.) She's a very light sleeper...
One night she heard... a very soft whisper
"BoBooooooooo...."
All the hair on her body stood on their ends and a cold chill shot down her spine. She froze, determined not to move.
"BoBooooooooo" it went again, persistant...
Bobo still didn't move, but was now curious ....
"Boboooooo....." a little louder now...
Curiosity got into her and she opened her eyes....


to see her sister's face just a couple of inches from her, smiling.


Number 9
Once Bobo was shopping alone in town, Bugis to be exact. After a whole day of shopping, she decided that she would go to the market at Beach Road which was just a bus stop away so she decided to walk there. After walking about the market a bit, she decided to go the a cafe along Kallang River and decided to walk there, only to find that the cafe was closed. Since there weren't any buses she could take home, she decided she would walk to Old Airport Road which was about 2-3 bus stops away from where she was. Once there, the bus took really long to appear and Bobo got impatient. She decided to walk to another bus stop where there were more buses. When she got to that bus stop she realised that she hadn't eaten and decided to walk to Dunman Road Food Centre (2-3 bus stops away) to have dinner. But the stall she liked wasn't open she walked to East Coast Road (2-3 bus stop away). But she couldn't decide what to eat at East Coast and since she was pretty near home (4-5 bus stops away) she walked home.

The only exercise she got in a long time.
