Pictures Pictures Pictures and Bobo's new hair!

Bobo left for Wuxi, China on 11th May for two weeks. She was sent there for work.
This is the Budget Hotel she stayed in. It's called Jinjiang Inn.
It's part of a hotel chain thing and it's not sleazy, so that's a good thing.
The bad thing is that there aren't any lifts in this 4 storey building
but the staff was took the initiative to give two girls (with heavy luggage) the ground floor.

The rooms were clean and bright.
But the odd thing was that one bed was a double and the other a single.
Bobo took the single since she doesn't move much while she sleeps anyway.
The only two glitches were that there was a blackout one day...
And the toilet bowl overflowed with their S*** one morning... hahaha

This was where Bobo worked for those two weeks.

It doesn't look so nice but it had everything she needed. She loved it here.

The people working there were very hospitable and invited them to their homes...

They learnt to make rice dumplings...

The host was very sweet.

They left the house late and didn't get a chance to have the dumplings that day.

Then she cooked them the next morning and brought them to work!

But when Bobo and her friend brought the dumplings back to the hotel,

they didn't have a microwave to heat up the cold dumplings!
So they put hot water in the sink....

and heated up them the Bobo way! hahah

*yummy* though a little sticky!

This is a restaurant near their workplace, it's just a 5 min walk away.

Bobo loved the ambience of the place. It's like a greenhouse sorts. Very chic!

Some of the food Bobo had in the two weeks.
She can't take too many food pictures as they had meals with the hosts.
It didn't seem too polite to be snapping away amongst strangers. :P

This is called the Jiu Lian Huan.. it's a puzzle thing, a brainteaser

The hook thingy at the top was trapped in all the loops and

Bobo managed to get them all out! WHEEEEE

And she put them all in afterwards.

Bobo and her friend are born on the same day in the same year...

on 18th May, their birthday, they went sightseeing!

Washing your hands in this fountain is suppose to bring good luck!

Look at those GIANT joss sticks.

Apparently during Chinese New Year, people actually purchase

candles and joss sticks THAT big to pray with.

They were buying raspberries by the expressway.
This was Bobo's first time buying raspberries and
buying ANYTHING along the expressway!

This was taken at one end of a very big lake, Tai Hu!
Bobo thought that it was the sea!

Then they stopped for lunch at a restaurant nearby.
At first Bobo was a little apprehensive when they parked here...

Then she saw the front of the restaurant... haha

Great food!!!

These were the cakes Bobo and her friend bought themselves!
The next day on the 19th of May there was a Ceremony..
for the children in the school (Bobo visited) to present their
donations to the people in Sichuan.

A representative from each class would say a few words before putting

the envelope in. An 8 year old boy cried so hard he couldn't continue...

Many of the children donated their own savings, bringing their

piggy banks to school.

Bobo was very touched and did her part too.

After working in Wuxi for about 12 days, they were allowed to go sightseeing

in Suzhou and Shanghai!!

A group of ladies performed their ethnic dance in the park!

People could rent costumes to take pictures by the waterway.

There were a wide range of costumes available...

Their first stop in Shanghai was the Pearl Tower.

Sadly, because of the weather and air conditions, they couldn't

see very much. But the skyscrapers were very beautiful.

They went to "Old Shanghai", a conservation area where
they preserved the old buildings. Businesses now take up the buildings.
They made such beautiful pictures...

This is the Business District in the day.

One of the Museums showcasing the past, present and future of Shanghai.

This is Cheng Huang Miao.. a shopping district!

Bobo went mad here and bought some souvenirs for those at home.

Bobo loved it there.

She really enjoyed herself despite her rashes and skin problems.
