Although the polls are for fun... but just take a look at the results...Does it really take something like this to happen for you to know that this is what youngsters are doing these days? Where have all these people been? And it's not just the youngsters la... pls... everyone is doing it. And I really mean lots of people. Even the people doing it are shaking their fingers at the couple and going tsk tsk tsk. What the hell.
People read reports and go like... Aiyoh Last time when we were young we weren't so havoc... PLEASE LA Last time got CAMERA PHONE MEH? Last time dun even have HANDPHONE lor. PENGSSS They ask things like why the kids nowadays like that... You know why?
Cos they're more intelligent. Cos they have the resources. Cos they have a enormous amount of information thrown at their faces with no one to guide them. Everyone is too busy except themselves. So they share whatever half-baked info they have among themselves and they think it's correct. Info about sex, growing up, the opposite sex.... All kinds of shit.
And it just suddenly occurred to me... those people say... nowadays they have sex so young... if 17 is young... then how come my ah ma had KIDS at the ripe old age of 18?
I know it was a social norm at that point of time so cannot compare. But people must accept that youngsters are having pre-marital sex at a younger age. Don't just go tsk tsk tsk at them and scream and shout at them not to... cos all the more they will. Teach them to have safe sex and how to protect themselves. Teach them the responsibilities and not just say NO NO NO. sigh.
